Generation of Computer
Computer System के तैयार हो जाने के बाद Computer की आंतरिक एवं बाहय संरचना में परिवर्तन हुए है,साथ ही साथ इसके Main Logical Element के कार्य करने की क्षमताओं समय - समय बिभिन्न परिवर्तन दिखाई पड़ते है,जिसमे यह परिवर्तन एक निश्चित समय पर होता है,जिसे Computer की Generation कहते है,Computer की Generation को 5 पीढ़ियों में बाँटा गया है !
(1) First Generation of Computer ::> Computer की First Generation सन्न 1945 - 46 से 1956 तक रही इस generation के Computer आकर में बहुत बड़े हुआ करते थे, यह लम्बाई में 100 Fit तथा ऊंचाई में लगभग 10 Fit होते थे,First Generation के Computer Logical Element के रूप में Vacuum tube का उपयोग किया गया जिसकी संख्या 18000 थी लगातार Electricity Supply की वजह से First Generation के Computer गर्म हो जाया करते थे,First Generations के Computer में Primary Output के लिये Punch card का उपयोग किया जाता था,Computers में Internal Memory के रूप में Magnetic का उपयोग किया जाता था, इस Generation के Computers में Limited Application थी !
(2) Second Generation of Computer ::> Computer की Second Generation सन्न 1956 -64 तक रही इस Generation के Computer का आकार First Generation के Computer से कुछ कम हो गया इस Generation में Magnetic Board में Tap और Disk का उपयोग किया गया साथ ही साथ Main Logical Elements के रूप में ट्रांजिस्टर का उपयोग किया गया,ट्रांजिस्टर का निर्माण William Shockley ने किया था, इस Generation के Computer First Generation की तुलना में थोड़े से Fast होते थे !
(3) Third Generation ऑफ़ Computer ::> Computer की Third Generation सन्न 1964 - 71 तक रही, इस Generation के Computer में Main Logical Elements के रूप में IC का उपयोग किया गया, IC का निर्माण Jack Kilby ने किया था, IC के उपयोग के कारण Third Generation के कंप्यूटर का आकार भी छोटा हो गया इस Generation के कम्प्यूटर्स में Semi Connector Memory का उपयोग किया गया इस Generation में Mini Computer का आरम्भ हो गया नये - नये Application का उपयोग किया जाने लगा Computer में High Level Language का उपयोग किया जाने लगा !
(4) Forth Generation of Computer ::> Computer की Forth Generation सन्न 1971 से 1995 तक रही,इस Generation में Large Scale Integrated Circuit का उपयोग किया जाने लगा कई IC को एक Circuit का Integrated किया गया जिससे बनी हुई Chip को Micro Processor कहा गया और जिन Computers में Micro Processor का उपयोग किया गया उन Computer को Micro Computer कहा गया इस Generation के कम्प्यूटर्स में नये - नये Application बनने प्रारम्भ हो गए इस दौरान इंटरनेट का उपयोग कम्प्यूटर्स पर किया जाने लगा !
(5) Fifth Generation of Computer ::> Computer की Fifth Generation सन्न 1995 से अब तक चल रही है, इस Generation के कंप्यूटर ULSIC (Ultra Large Scale Integrated Circuit) का उपयोग किया गया जिस कारण Computer बहुत छोटे - छोटे आकारों के आ रहे है, इस Generation में Computers में स्वय सोचने की क्षमता विकसित की जा रही है !
